Pastor David Deen began his ministry over 40 years ago. He has served in several roles in Ministry, including children, youth, young adults, and other areas. He began his God-Appointed assignment here at Southside Church of God on August 10, 2018. Pastor David and his wife, Pam Deen, are founded in love: love of Christ, love for each other, love for their church, and love for their community.  Pastor Deen welcomes you to Southside!

RM and Margaret Warren have been in ministry in the Church of God for over 50 years. Brother RM was a full-time pastor for 40 years before retiring from full-time ministry. The Warrens have chosen to spend their Golden Years with us here in Alma, at Southside Church of God. They have a special gift for visiting and loving people, and can't wait to meet everyone. We are blessed to have him and his wife, Margaret Warren, as a part of our ministry team.

Shane Howell began attending Southside in 2021 and joined our ministry team as Ministry Coordinator in 2023. While attending our church he met and married his wife, Kristi (Jordan). Kristi was born and raised in the walls of Southside. She has been a member of our Praise Team for many years, she has also served with our kids and youth. As Ministry Coordinators, Shane and Kristi work hand in hand with the ministry team and church leadership to help them accomplish their goals.

Abbi Lewis is born and raised right here at Southside Church of God.  After graduating from
Georgia Southern University with her degree in Special Education, the Lord led her path back
home to Southside.  Her passion for building a deeper relationship between our young people
and the Lord, as well as her mentorship of our young girls, is a driving force behind her success
in Youth Ministry.  Abbi teaches in Bacon County Elementary School and also coaches the Bacon
County Middle School Lady Raiders softball.  Abbi would love to see YOU with her every Wednesday
night at 7 p.m. in the Youth House.

Shawnee Holton has been serving as the Children's Ministry Director for over 3 years. She has a passion for our younger generation and excels in the teaching methods required to keep our students engaged in Biblical learning. Her passion has led to a growing Children's Church filled with excitement, songs, and an all-around great time. Shawnee would love to meet you in Children's Church every Sunday morning at 9:00 am and 10:50 am!

Luke, Taylor, Zoey, and Ella started their music ministry at Southside Church of God in November of 2020. Luke has been singing praise and worship his entire life and also plays several instruments. Taylor is the heart of the sound room and makes sure it all runs smoothly for services. Their family is very active in many areas of ministry.  

Misty Johnson joined the staff here at Southside as our Ministerial Assistant in September 2020.  She comes to serve the church with a heart for the Lord. Her creativity and love for her work make her an asset to the church.  She is at the office Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 4 PM and would love to hear from you.  Feel free to contact Misty below with any questions or to check the master calendar for the church.  

Beverly Jordan has been a part of Southside Church of God for most of her life. She and her husband raised their family within the walls of Southside. Beverly has served as acting clerk since 2019. She recently retired from her full-time job and was brought on board in the Church office in January 2022.
